Hubert de Givenchy was born on February 21, 1927 and grew up in France. Growing up he thought he wanted a career in law even though he grew up enjoying sewing and fashion. Givenchy moved to Paris for University which is when he decided he wanted a career in fashion. Hubert de Givenchy started his fashion house Givenchy in 1952. The house grew to be loved by everyone rapidly. Givenchy's biggest muse was Audrey Hepburn. He designed most of her costumes for movies such as Funny Face, Sabrina, and that iconic little black dress she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Givenchy sold his company in 1988 and retired in 1995. Today Riccardo Tisci is the creative director of the fashion house who's muse is Kim Kardashian.
