It's no secret that off the shoulder tops and dresses are a huge trend right now and I am such a fan!

One Year of Dying in Dior

It has officially been one full year since I started Dying in Dior. I started Dying in Dior last year as a creative outlet to share my own outfits that I put together as well as share other things in fashion that I love and inspire me.
Fashion to me is an art. It is a form of art that is seen in everyday life. People use their creativity and own personal style to create a certain look for themselves and it can be so much fun. This look can say so much about a person as it is part of someones first impression of you.
I never expected to enjoy blogging as much as I do nor did I expect to have so many people around the world view it every day!
I would like to thank everyone around the world who views Dying in Dior everyday. It is all of you who keep me motivated to post as much as I can.

On Top

Recently I've been really liking the idea of wearing things on top of one another - you might be thinking layering and yes it is a form of layering but more...unexpected. By this I mean skirts over pants or underneath dresses, similar to the Dior look Emma Watson wore to the 2014 Golden Globes. It threw people off but in a good way.
Today I took a step towards this unexpected layering and wore a sweater over top a summer dress and "winterized" it. I mean it doesn't look that unexpected but it's a step closer towards wearing dresses on top of skirts - I already have an outfit in mind.

Canadian Art and Fashion Awards

This past Saturday night played host to the second annual Canadian Art and Fashion Awards (CAFA) at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. CAFA is meant to honor Canadian talent in the fashion industry as well as emerging Canadian talent. The host for the evening was Joe Zee, editor in chief of Yahoo Style. Some of the winners of the evening include Anais Pouliot for Model of the Year, Erdem for International Canadian Designer of the Year, and Mikhael Kale for Womenswear designer of the year.
I had the pleasure of being at this years awards ceremony and was lucky to have the opportunity to meet some of Canada's most important names in fashion.

Distillery District Take Two

I went to the Distillery District Christmas Market again this weekend but this time with my family and at night. The market is so much prettier at night and it was the perfect night to go because it wasn't cold at all. Clearly everyone else knew it was a perfect night also because there was a huge line to get into the market and every restaurant had a two to three hour wait.
Crazy, but so pretty.

Wedding Bells

This past Friday one of my cousins got married. I'm one of those people who happens to really like weddings, probably because every wedding I go to turns out to be a lot of fun;my family likes to have a good time - a really good time. Plus I always love finding a new outfit to wear and getting my hair and make-up done. I find weddings are a good opportunity for me to try out new hair and make-up looks. My look for last weeks wedding at the MacLaren Art Centre (really nice venue by the way!) had a lot of different things going on but at the same time I don't think the look was too much but that's for you to decide. For my hair I went with an old Hollywood glam look - side swept curls, for my make-up I did a nude lip,a really dramatic eye and some contouring which I've always wanted to try out. Now for the outfit.... I've been seeing a lot of cheetah print fur coats floating around the fashion world and decided I loved them so naturally I needed one. Luckily when I went shopping for the wedding I found the perfect jacket at Topshop, paired it with a black fringe dress (so fun), and black pointed toe heels to add at least something that was simple.

A Few

In case you have not noticed, I haven't posted in a couple days. The first day..I'll be honest I may have been a little lazy, the second day I had a job interview and then I was assisting a photographer at the Agent Provocateur store opening in Toronto which took up my entire night, then yesterday...well yesterday I took a nap. Is that unprofessional?

All About Those Pants

I got these pants in the summer, and I love them every bit as much now as I did then. They're very different and unexpected. They remind me of the 1970's which is part of the reason why I love them so much for sure which is partly why I decided to wear my hair wavy today and parted in the middle to keep with the 70's vibes. Every time I wear these pants I think of a new way to style them and keep evolving my style.

Armani Films of City Frames

This past weekend I went to the Toronto International Film Festival like I have been for the past five years. I saw a couple a movies and some celebrities like I had the years before. The only difference this year was that I actually got to go to a party that they were all at. On September 6th I had the pleasure of being at the Giorgio Armani Films of City Frames party at the CN Tower. How did I get to go you may ask? Well I was hired by a family friend photographer - George Pimentel to edit photographs taken at the party. The majority of the photos I was responsible for editing were the atmosphere and party photos while the other editor was responsible for party and red carpet photos. One of the coolest parts of being present at this party was not only that I was at at a TIFF party hosted by a big fashion house and rubbing elbows with celebrities such as Jessica Chastain, Denzel Washington, and Chloe Grace Moretz while I wasn't in the editing room (360 restaurant),  but I had never in all my 17 years been into the CN Tower! It was amazing being up there for so long having the entire place to myself (for a bit) while watching the sunset from 1 500 up in the air. This weekend was a weekend I will never forget and am so thankful for having the opportunity to have had it.

Passover Dinner

Yesterday evening marked the beginning of Passover. On the first two nights of Passover, Jewish families gather for a Sedar, a feast where the story of the Jewish slaves' exodus from Egypt is re-toldLast night's Sedar was held at my Bubbie's (grandmother) houseTypically, the first Sedar is more"formal" than the second Seder for my family, as more people are invited to join.  I wore a white t-shirt, leather jogging pants,  cheetah print heels and a dark bold lip.

Little Black Skirt

I am so glad that the weather is warming up so I can wear dresses and skirts! This look is giving me a 1950's vibe. Maybe it's the red lip, curled hair, and cat eye sunglasses?
